CALL FOR BUILDING INSPECTIONS IN SYDNEY 0401 012 074
Castle Hill is one of the original suburbs of The Hills, with its main growth from the 1950s through to the 1980s. Much of the suburb is brick and tile family homes on large blocks with mature trees, alongside newer knockdown rebuilds and a growing number of apartments around Castle Hill Metro station.
Castle Hill sits mostly on reactive shale clay, with sandstone on some of the higher ridges, and many streets slope. That makes cracking, drainage, retaining walls and tree roots a big part of our Castle Hill inspections. Peter is based nearby in Stanhope Gardens and has over 18 years of experience inspecting homes across The Hills.
Every property is different, but these are the issues that come up most often on our Castle Hill building and pest inspections.
Many 1970s and 80s homes show stepped cracks from window and door corners and gaps at the cornices. We check whether the movement looks minor and settled or ongoing, and tell you if a structural engineer should take a look.
Large blocks with mature trees can mean roots in older sewer and stormwater pipes and movement in paths and footings. We flag what we see and tell you when a drain camera inspection is worth arranging.
On sloping blocks we check site drainage, subfloor dampness and retaining walls for leaning, cracking or poor drainage behind them.
Many homes still have their original tiled roofs. We check for cracked or slipped tiles, worn pointing, rusted valleys and gutters that overflow.
Mature gardens, timber retaining walls and homes near bushland reserves raise termite risk. We check the subfloor, roof space and perimeter closely. See our timber pest inspection reports.
Newer units around Castle Hill station still need checking. We look for leaks around balconies, bathrooms and windows, and signs of water getting in from common areas.
Whether you are buying, selling or building in Castle Hill, these are the inspections local clients book with us most.
Our most popular inspection for Castle Hill buyers. We check the structure, roof, subfloor, wet areas and site drainage, plus a full timber pest check, before you exchange. Learn about pre-purchase inspections.
A dedicated check for termites and other timber pests, including signs of past activity and conditions that make a home more likely to be attacked. See our pest inspections.
Selling in Castle Hill? A pre-sale report lets you fix issues or disclose them upfront, so there are fewer surprises once buyers start their own checks. Learn about pre-sale inspections.
Knockdown rebuilds and new developments are common across Castle Hill. A dilapidation report records the condition of neighbouring properties before work starts. Learn about dilapidation reports.
Buying a unit or townhouse in Castle Hill? We inspect the property itself and flag anything that may point to wider building issues, such as water getting in from common areas. See strata inspections.
Building a knockdown rebuild in Castle Hill? We inspect at key construction stages and before handover, so defects are picked up while the builder is still on site. See construction stage inspections.
